Kim Liedtke
I build product-critical systems, lead teams through ambiguity, and turn messy regulated domains into reliable software.
Showing the balanced view
Systems, end to end
Each role meant turning an unclear domain into software boundaries a team could rely on.
Timeline
What I work in
Grouped by core disciplines and real engineering impact. From scalable backend platforms and data pipelines to cloud infrastructure and engineering leadership.
How I lead
I lead from high ownership and calm under ambiguity. Turning unclear domains into reliable software boundaries while fostering team collaboration, mentorship, and delivery.
I take the outcome, not just the ticket, from ambiguity to shipped and supported.
Unclear domains don't rattle me. I find the boundaries, then make them legible.
I stay close to product pressure and translate it into durable technical decisions.
Enough structure to scale the team and the system, and no more than that.
Clear about trade-offs and disagreement, without making it heavy.
Regulated, half-specified, high-stakes. That's where I do my best work.

- •Owned the platform's first architecture (service boundaries, data model, CI/CD), still in production.
- •Engineering Manager for the acquired Cleverlohn payroll product: run an external team and own delivery, hands-on.
- •First technical hire; stood up a correctly modularized Odoo ERP that unblocked buying and selling.
- •Pioneered LLM-based extraction of inbound surplus offers on the first OpenAI API generation.
- •Managed up to 13 direct reports across two squads, Plan Management then Customer Success.
- •Compressed one-year outcome prediction into 10-week Optimizely experiment windows.
High ownership. Calm under ambiguity. Product and engineering bridge. Structure, not overengineering. Direct, thoughtful comms. Comfortable in the mess.
